FLATTERER
A journey of devotion and appreciation for traditional craftsmanship.
Inspired by...
The Sámi are descendants of nomadic peoples. They have inhabited Lapland, areas in northern Norway, Sweden and Finland, and the Kola Peninsula in Russia for thousands of years. The basis of the Sámi indigenous economy was reindeer herding and the use of their meat, milk, antlers and skins. Since the 17th century, Sámi artisans have embroidered their traditional garments, belts, bags and jewellery with spun tin thread, which is interwoven with their deep connection to nature and their way of reindeer herding. All the pieces we offer pay homage to this enduring cultural heritage.

Welcome!
I am Felicity, founder of Flatterer. Originally from the north of Scotland, I have a passion for Celtic traditions and a deep connection to the Scandinavian roots of my ancestors. I am inspired by the ancient cultures of the north, especially the Sámi, and their ingenuity in traditional crafts. The rich symbolism and ornamentation of their culture, their deep spiritual connection to nature and their respectful use of resources are reflected in the techniques and materials they use. Let us inspire you with tradition and wear a piece of nature and history with pride.
